This Friday, October 30th, was Link Crew’s first Freshman Movie Night. The event took place in the cafeteria, which had been decorated to fit the spooky theme of the evening. The movie choice was Hocus Pocus, a classic Halloween flick from 1993 about three witches causing trouble on the most haunted night of the year and the antics ensuing from two teenagers, a young girl, and an immortal cat trying to stop them. Before the movie, however, the students played a game which had them searching for a gummy bear in a tin of whipped cream using only their mouths. The winners got a free item from the concessions. The typical items that you'd find in a movie theater concessions stand were served, such as candy, popcorn, and soda. VIP service was also available for students who wanted front row seating and a butler service that meant they never had to get out of their chairs to get concession items.
During intermission, Link Crew members danced to songs that the students requested, which was a big hit. Overall, the evening was a success, building a greater connection between Link Crew members and freshman students, as well as a greater sense of school spirit amongst the freshman. Next Freshman Movie Night will be holiday themed.
