Q: What is it like working at Sage Creek?
A: Working at Sage Creek has been one of the greatest experiences in my career so far. The staff and students are among some of the most welcoming people I have met and not a day goes by that I do not feel supported.
Q: What do you enjoy most about your job?
A: I love being able to share moments with my students --those hilarious moments after a joke or times when a student just needs someone to understand them. There is nothing better than being able to share these with my students especially when my day seems long.
Q: What do you want students to take out of your class?
A: I want my students to recognize that they are capable of anything they set their minds to. I never let any of my students say they can't do something, especially when they haven't yet tried. I want them to see that some things may take a little more work than planned, but that does not mean it is impossible. I also want my students to recognize the joy in life. I want them to be able to laugh at tough times rather than take life so seriously, because life is short and "a day without laughter is a day wasted" (Chaplin).
Q: What makes you a unique teacher?
A: Laughter. I love to laugh. I feel like laughing can make any day seem perfect. Also, as a student myself, I bring a unique perspective to my classroom. I recognize that my students have a lot on their plate as I do too. Most of my students are incredibly thankful for my understanding but, at the end of the day, I value honesty and when its too much, its too much. I get it.
